इतिहास घडवीणारा तेली समाज व भवानी मातोचा पलंग  ( भाग 4 ) 

    माझ्या उमेदीच्या काळात बाळासाहेब पुरंदरे शिवचरित्र एकदा नव्हे तर 3/4 वेळा वाचले. किती स्फुर्ती मिळत होती ती अनुभवली. जेष्ठ चित्रकार दिनानाथ दलाल यांची चित्रे माझा जीव की प्राण होते. गणपती मंडळांना तर मी या रेखा चित्रावरून अनेक देखावे बनवुण दिले. पण जेंव्हा श्री संत संताजी व तेली समाज हा विषय गेली 30 वर्ष पाहू लागलो तेंव्हा कळू लागले. आरे ही तर एक बखर यात नुसता ब्राह्मण गौरव जाता जाता मराठा पराक्रम. पण यात तेली, माळी, सुतार, नाभीक, लोहार, मातंग, महार या जाती मधील बांधवांनी जो पराक्रम केला त्याची जाणीव सर्व पुस्तकात एक अक्षराने नाही. कारण आसे ही असावे बखर कार या समाजाचे नसावेत. दुसरे कारण असे असावे मुद्रण कला अस्तवात आल्यावर इतिहास संशोधन करण्यासाठी अनेकांनी विश्‍वासाने कागद पत्रे दिली ती लगेच नष्ट  झाली का तर इतिहास हा त्यांना सोईचा लिहायचा हेाता. यातुन संत तुकाराम सुटले नाहीत तर इतरांची काय अवस्था असेल हे स्पष्ट होते. तरी सुद्धा आज जे त्यांच्या अतीरेकी कार्यवाहीतून जे शिल्लक आहे त्यावर संशोधन करणे तेवढेच गरजेचे आहे.

    हा पलंग जो आहे त्याचा इतिहास सुद्धा पुसट ठेवला आहे. आणी आम्ही नगर सबजेल चौकातील नगर पलंगे बांधव घेऊन जातत एवढेच समजतो. तो घोडेगाव येथे बनविला जात तोे येथे लाकडाचे कारीव काम करणार्‍या समाजाकडे असे त्यांना ठाकूर किंवा तुलवे म्हणत त्यांना त्याबद्दल दोन घरे वतन म्हणुन आहेत. ही घराणी कालांतराने पुणे येथे स्थालांरीत झाली. घोडेगाव, ता. अंबेगाव, जि. पुणे येथिल तेली समाज बांधव हा पलंग बनवुन घेतात बनवलेला पलंग हा तेली समाज संस्थेत ठेवतात येथे भावीक दर्शन घेतात. घोडेगाव येथिल जेष्ठ व जाणकार बांधव यांच्याकडे चौकशी केली असता समजले 

These people used to work in oil mills with two oxen (bail) and it was symbol of richness. This teli samaj mostly found in maharashtra vidarbha. they speak marathi language which is zadi boli in east. 
in Hingoli District of maharashtra kre,Chakole as on. They are widely spread in Amaravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondiya, Wardha, Washim, Gadchiroli & Nagpur also Pandurna (MP), ausar (MP)& Bhopal (MP), balaghat and betul, rajnandgaon,raipur&durg

   It was just a professional organization of any family or caste who adopted oil pressing profession, especially during the time East India Company and The Great Freedom Massacre of 1857, when oil-pressing was said to have become a profitable profession and business.

Teli Chauhans are found in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Sahiwal Kashmir and Sialkot, Gujranwal, Lahore district of Western Punjab.  

Unai Sahu teli samaj history -  उनई साहू वैश्य

       The Unai Sahu or sometimes pronounced Unaya are a teli samaj Bania Vaishya sub-caste found in the Uttar Pradesh in India. They get their name from the towm of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, and Unai literally means someone from Unnao.The community consist of two endogamous sub-groups, the Unai proper and the Unawa. They speak the Awadhi dialect, and are Hindus. The Unai Sahu teli samaj are found mainly in the districts of Barabanki, Faizabad and Gond.

They derive their name Sahu, or sometimes pronounced Sao and Sah, from their ancestral family business of bankers and money lending: from the Hindi word SAHUKAR, meaning, in a sense, persons dealing with money. Sahu Vaishya also have traditional business of oilseeds and oil milling. With the passage of time they have spread to many parts of India, particularly eastern India.
