These people used to work in oil mills with two oxen (bail) and it was symbol of richness. This teli samaj mostly found in maharashtra vidarbha. they speak marathi language which is zadi boli in east. 
in Hingoli District of maharashtra kre,Chakole as on. They are widely spread in Amaravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondiya, Wardha, Washim, Gadchiroli & Nagpur also Pandurna (MP), ausar (MP)& Bhopal (MP), balaghat and betul, rajnandgaon,raipur&durg

  It is knows as Rajsthan's Padmvanshi Teli, Mostly in Maharashtra and MP (Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Jhabua Sendwa etc.) 

   The Padmvandhi Teli are same cultural to Rathod Teli as mentioned above but Rathod Teli located widely. There sur name names are Teli,Asarwal, Surale,  Aagwal, Bindwal, Chudhari, Dhakare, Lahiwal, Mahor, Mangrunde,Ajmere,  Mangrule, Mavre, Mandavare,Perdeshi,  Nagare, Nainav, Rathod, Sartale, , Zalwar, And mane other 

         Kannagi (Kannaki Amman) is eulogized as the epitome of chastity and is still worshipped as its goddess. She is praised for her extreme devotion to her husband in spite of his adulterous behaviour. She is worshiped as Goddess Pathini in Sri Lanka by the Sinhalese Buddhists, Kannaki Amman by the Sri lanka Tamils Hindus’ and as Kodungallur Bhagavathy (Kodungallur Devi / Kodungallur Amma) and Attukal Bhagavathy (Attukal Devi / Attukal Amma) in South Indian state Kerala.

        It must be noted that Kannagi is also viewed as a brave woman who could demand justice directly from the King and even dared to call him “Unenlightened King”. The point here is that while she was behaving in a non-interfering manner with her domestic problems, she was no meek woman that would brook injustice in the rule of the law.

         There are sub castes within teli samaj Gandla or Gandla . People using one ox (yedhu) were called one ox (yedhu) gandla and those using two ox (yedhu) were called the double ox (yedhu) gandla. Among the gandla some are known as Deva (pious) Gandla and others were Sajjana (commoners) gandla. There is no definite criteria for this classification. However gandla in Punganur village of Chittor district, A.P. were called as Deva Gandla. Gandlas of Bellary, Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu) , Venkatagiri, Rompicherla, Vayalpadu and other parts of Chittor are known as Sajjana gandla.

           Members of the Ganiga community have subdivided over the years due to different faith and beliefs, forming groups such as Somakshatriya Ganiga, Jyothipana Ganiga, Ontettu Ganiga, Jodettu Ganiga, Veerashaiva Ganiga and Vijayanagara Ganiga.
