    teli samaj was ruling caste in buddha & jan dharm age. Gupta Empire & other teli  kings rules in indian subcontinent.  Gupta Empire is second largest Empire in  indian subcontinent.

      When the cast system was formed in indian subcontinent the comunity  which crushing oil nut's and sale oil to the people they call Teli samaj.
 teli makes oil from nuts like Peanut, Sunflower, Safflower, sesame seeds, coconut, soybean, etc. they make sub product Pend for cow's & other animals. teli's are in hindu, muslim. the muslim teli are called  Roshandaar or Teli Malik.
